NOW AVAILABLE!!

50 Ways to Pray: Practices from Many Traditions and Times is now published and available from Abingdon Press and/or Amazon.com. Publishers Weekly calls the book “helpful and friendly” and says “the breadth of the book provides an imaginative jump-start for anyone with a narrow conception of how to pray or a limited repertoire of rote prayers.”

50 Ways to Pray is exactly what its title suggests—I’ve collected, created and edited 50 prayer and spiritual reflection exercises for use either by individuals or with groups (there’s a “Leader’s Guide” in the back). My goal was simply to provide people with a variety of practices in an easy-to-read format.

Meeting God in Virtual Reality: Using Spiritual Practices with Media. Abingdon Press, 2004. This is the ultimate study guide for spiritual reflection on any film, video or television show. Includes several popular prayer practices adapted for use with media. See the news release about Teresa's multi-media presentation at the 2004 Presbyterian General Assembly Media Mission Luncheon, entitled Discerning the godly in media.

Watching What We Watch: Prime-Time Television Through the Lens of Faith. Geneva Press, 2001. This is a guide to theological reflection on prime-time television. Includes case studies on Seinfeld, Law & Order, and The Simpsons. An extensive study-guide worksheet is included for leading discussions on theology and television.

Lost and Found. Montreat Conference Center, 2004. A small group leader's manual for the annual youth conferences of the Presbyterian Church (USA). This year's focus was on the many ways we are both lost and found on our spiritual journey.

Check Your Compass. Montreat Conference Center, 2003. A small group leader's manual for the annual youth conferences. This year's focus was on spiritual discernment.
