Even the lowest priced hotel rooms in Fairbanks can be enormously costly, especially during the tourist season. The University of Alaska, Fairbanks tried to charge OPS-Alaska researchers $140+/day (without meals) for a dormitory room barely accommodating two persons in the recent past, and which was exceedingly noisy.
The potential exists, if there is sufficient interest, to upgrade and make available THIS SUMMER to visiting scientists and scholars from bona fide research universities and similar facilities, living and working quarters near the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Direct inquiries to:
