Girl Scout Troop 253 Annual Rifle Interest Project
Every year our Girl Scout Troop participates in a Rifle Interest Project that is fashioned after the Boy Scout Marksmanship Merit Badge. The project consists of 4 classroom lectures, two by guest speakers from local law enforcement groups and two by troop leaders, and a two day outing to the local police association's campground and firing range

This year we had 6 scouts on the range and a number of guests. Our high score was, again, held by Karen with 300 points (down from 306 last year).

As of this year 72 different scouts have participated in this event and the total attendance has been 148 scouts.

Here is the group shot (no pun intended) of the 2000 outing scouts, leaders, and adult participants:

their own, unique style. (2000)
