My
business name is Agate Road. I
started in the crafts business in 1976 making Brazilian agate wind
chimes. I first came up with the idea of using semiprecious stones
to create lids for burl wood boxes in 1980. Over the years I've
continued to develop and refine my technique, adding such improvements
as the hand-shaped "lip" that makes lifting the stone lid easier.
Once I cut out the inside of a box, then what do I do with that leftover inner piece? That question inspired me to develop items like burl wood stamp holders, salt and pepper shakers, and swivel lid boxes. I also use inner pieces from large boxes to create smaller boxes. With wood as expensive as it is, I like to "recycle" as much as I can! Very little wood goes to waste in the creation of my wood and stone boxes. (Actually, none of it goes to waste, since I heat my house with a wood stove, and scraps that can't be used for anything else make great kindling!) My business policy has always been to go the extra mile to make sure my customers are satisfied. If you're not happy with any item you buy from me, you can return it in original condition within 30 days. (Please contact me first before sending any return.) If you have any special requests or inquiries, please don't hesitate to ask. |
