Who is/was Fleischer's Service?
FleischersService.htm
There is a lengthy rambling bio on this website, but this short page is just to explain about Fleischer's Service, in brief!
Firstly, Fleischer's Service is a contraction of Fleischer Engineering and Electronics Service.
I was an officially emancipated juvenile, so was out on my own and had my own electronics repair business, when I was 15. I kept an electronics business all these years, expanding it, contracting it, depending on what I wanted at the time. That business was called Fleischer Electronics Service; and it was the original full name of my first business. I had employees at one time, and we did 80% home HiFi repairs and installations then. Much of our business way back then was for stereo stores; so, we were mostly wholesale; but developed our own retail customers. That business expanded and other businesses were added. As I headed ever so slowly towards retirement, I shrunk the businesses so now it is just me, it is in a portion of my garage at home, and I now work very few hours, and 80-85% is on musician's electronics. My company is a warranty station for many well-known musician's electronics manufacturer's, such as Fender. The balance, 15-20%, is a mix of HiFi, commercial and industrial electronics. I do a small amount of consulting now and then. Since I do other work besides Electronics, and did not want my E-mail nor company checks,....and a few other things...to have the long misleading at times name, ....some years ago I simply started using Fleischer's Service. That way I need only one E-mail account, one checking account, etc. My resale licenses, and registrations, etc., are all under the original name.
I have had other businesses,
and at one time all of them were lumped as separate businesses INSIDE of
Fleischer Engineering and Electronics Service. These businesses were:
A charter flight company that also taught flying (Fleischer's Aviation Services)
An aircraft radio company (Fleischer's Flight Radio).
A car audio company (Ultimate Auto Stereo) that did retail sales and
installations, and, I traveled and troubleshooted for other companies, as a
representative for several companies, including Clarion.
A BMW motorcycle custom work shop (Fleischer's BMW Service).
A machine shop, that had two parts, one did mostly car items, the other did
custom items (Fleischer's Machine Shop; Machining by Flash).
An antique motorcycle repair, restoration, and buy/sell company (Fleischer's
Antique Bikes)
All the above business have been closed, except the electronics shop, as I have slowly headed towards
retirement. I no longer do any type of BMW motorcycle work for
others in a formal business arrangement.
I had several lengthy careers, some at the same time; and, a discussion of those
things are on my website in the biography article. Since you are
probably reading this because you are a BMW motorcycle owner, you probably also
know that I apprenticed myself to some BMW motorcycle dealerships some decades
ago, and worked at Winklemann BMW; and was initially just an apprentice tech but
worked myself up to chief technician and finally the head of the
shop. I've been very heavily involved with BMW airhead bikes in a
number of ways since the fifties.
