Order and Chaos - 3
The grid is our civilization’s construction
template-- still in effect in spite of the fact that the leading edge of our perception is being challenged to find new symbols
and representations for the whole complex galactic ecological dynamic that we are at every moment participant in.
Even after Einstein showed us elastic
space-time grids forming topologies warped by gravitational masses, our minds default constantly to Euclidian
axioms as we walk along the troweled flat concrete slab sidewalk.
But moss keeps growing up through the cracks
and seams in the sidewalk and the roots of trees buckle the planes. The rigorously
logical world of the computer is infected with “viruses,” and passionate music still plays on the finger-grid
of the parallel fretted guitar.
This steel-glass-concrete
hive we have created participates after all in the slow digestive process of weathering and erosion and even, by measurable
increments, in the slow, roiling convection cells and subduction returns of geologic Earth time.
Are there levels of being beyond
the mind that we know? The computer-supercharged, mathematical mind of science seeks new ways
of analyzing chaos to somehow empirically reveal its hidden structures. The mystical
mind gazes with rapture at Chaos as the burning bush from which a new voice may speak.
